Will Maltese real-estate agents get a look-in with Henley & Partners controlling the citizenship market?

Henley tried to do a snow job on Antigua, but the government there saw the light AFTER FIRST SIGNING a contract with Henley. It renegotiated in a tough way and got out of the contract, with certain penalties of course, things like not speaking badly of Henley etc.

Anyway, Henley went to all the developers in Antigua and tried to strong-arm them into exclusive arrangements with them for 15% or more commission, with advance payments. Same thing, I am sure, is going to happen in Malta, or is already happening, and the developers will agree and cut out the local realtors completely, as they will have no choice.

The fact is that in both St. Kitts and Antigua 95% of real estate purchasers buy their real estate through their citizenship consultant. I know this because I do this.

We have so much control over the buyers that I decided to build a 60-home residential development that I will sell to citizenship buyers as well. The local estate agents are simply not in the game as they do not provide the main service needed, which is the citizenship. Real estate is secondary.

If these people are not so politically blinded, they would have done what the Antiguans did – of course Baldwin Spencer and everyone at the task force have dignity and have a proper affinity with their own country. They acted with responsibility to the people – regardless of their partisan preference – unlike you know who.

Henley & Partners got Joseph Muscat firmly by his balls.

These two stories (gas and Henley) are both examples of a government being held by the balls by external parties.

Clearly both were deals stitched up before the elections and which I am sure involved sizable contributions to that glitzy campaign.

We knew about one of them and many were sceptical, but we had no idea about the other. Any more surprises ahead?

Jekk il-bendy buses tnehhew mit-toroq maltin ghax kienu ta’ periklu kif inbieghu lis-Sudan? Mela is-sudanizi mhux bnedmin ukoll ? Dan ifisser li l-gvern malti huwa tassew bla kuxjenza li ghal 600000€ gie jaqa u jqum mil-periklu fuq il-hajja ta-cittadini sudanizi.

Jekk mill-banda l-ohra dawn m’humiex ta’ periklu allura qed jikkonferma li it-tnehhija tal-bendy buses mit-toroq maltin kien biss pika u determinazzjoni li jara l-Arriva titlaq minn Malta ghal skopijiet tieghu.

80 ‘bendy’ buses sold for €601,200 which is less than the cost of one Maltese passport. That’s 80 Mercedes ‘bendy’ buses sold at €7,515 per bus. This is equivalent to Lm3,226 per bus in old currency for those of you still programmed to work things out in Maltese Lira. Please pull the other one.

It may not be the exact same situation in Malta. What is of concern though is the the low price threshold for the required property investment that is set at €350,000 and should be mostly of concern to those home buyers who are looking at an upgrade of their first property. They may find that this market will have significantly different dynamics.

I recall the real estate agents being happy with the IIP. Let them enjoy it now.

Are we sure that the bendy buses were actually sold to Sudan for the sum mentioned? Sudan, of all countries?

How is it possible to follow their whereabouts after they leave Malta?

  5. Nuri Katz says:

Actually the threshold is much lower than you think. The minimum requirement in the IIP is to rent a property for 1,333 euros a month. There is no requirement to buy a property.
