Random capitalisation can Sometimes be used to Draw attention to specific words in a Sentence – in this case Nouns. It’s actually something that was common place in the english language in 17th & 18th century (and is still part of modern day German). Shakespeare was party to such grammar crimes… but i don’t think it stopped his message getting across. :)

The image of a school isn’t affected by the smartness of its pupils but by a letter from the headmistress peppered with capital letters where none should be.

Don’t bother about it – it’s quite a common mistake since the advent of non-church, non-state schools. Before that (in the dark ages when I was at school), church schools were NEVER known as church schools but always as private schools.

It’s a private school. The distinction is between state-owned and non-state-owned.

Private schools are then sub-divided into religious schools and independent schools.

Independent schools are then further subdivided into those run by foundations and trusts (not for profit), and those run as businesses (for profit).
