The thought that anyone feels the need to justify Mark Gaffarena’s comments is very frightening indeed.

How can anyone give any attention to what this crook says and even try to compare his character to that of Beppe Fenech Adami?

When you are in the public eye there will always be those who invent and twist stories about you.

Gaffarena is under pressure and is trying one on Beppe Fenech Adami. I have no doubt who is telling the truth here as the only way Gaffarena ever got anything he has is through dubious means.

What they have done is wrong and the fact that Gaffarena may have known Dr Fenech Adami doesn’t make it less wrong.

I’m sorry, but I can’t follow your line of reasoning. Why on earth do you assume that he would have got his petrol station permit under the Nationalist government even if he were close to Beppe Fenech Adami?

Before uploading this comment, which carries the risk of a libel suit, I contacted the Nationalist Party’s deputy leader to see whether it is true, sending him the comment, and received the following response by email:

“I have seen this latest post by Mr Gaffarena. This is totally untrue and once again I have to say that it is another invented story by Mr Gaffarena intended to deviate from his real, actual and very big Old Mint Street scandal.

His acquaintance to me was not and will never be, an insurance policy. Only Muscat and his cronies sell that sort of insurance.”
