Mark Gaffarena posted this comment on Malta Today’s comments board last night. I contacted Beppe Fenech Adami for his side of the story and unlike the executive chairman of Identity Malta, he replied immediately.

You have brought to my attention the comment posted by Mr. Mark Gaffarena in a Malta Today portal story. The following are my comments.

Mr. Gaffarena pathetically tries to give the impression that we were close buddies as he was and still is with Parliamentary Secretary Michael Falzon. Nothing is further from the truth.

There were a few social occasions where I and Mr Gafferena were both present among very many other guests, including a birthday party last year at Villa Arrigo, where there were 200 people.

I also recall that Mr. Gaffarena was at a barbecue held at somebody’s home in Zebbug, where I was a guest too along with a hundred other people.

Mr. Gaffarena engaged the services of my wife Anne, a notary, more than 11 years ago for the publication of seven contracts (five of which were for the same company) where the value of the properties purchased and/or sold ranged from Lm500 to Lm27,000.

This was way back in 2003 and 2004 when I was not a member of parliament and not even a candidate standing for election.

The other points made in Gaffarena’s comment are the fruit of his imagination.
