If a trip for the finance minister on George Fenech's private plane constitutes a potential bribe, trading in influence and cause for scandal, then what is an all-expenses-paid trip to the UAE for the Prime Minister, the Health & Energy Minister and their entourages?

And apparently, a trip to watch a football match, on George Fenech's private plane accompanied by Joe Gasan is cause for apoplectic scandal in the Labour Party media (who knows what JosephKonrad got from those two since then), but an all-expenses-paid trip to the United Arab Emirates, funded by some Gulf dictators, for the prime minister, Konrad Mizzi, Konrad MIzzi's communications harem, the head of the civil service, the head of the government's information technology outfit, and the head of government communications, is just fine.

If you think that Muscat wants to be head of state, you have understood little of him. He is drive solely by money. The entire aim of power in his view is to acquire money. A role without the power to effect decisions which lead to money is useless to him, unless it has real status – for e.g. president of the European Commission.
