How degrading, embarrassing, awkward, humiliating – and ruddy stupid

Now we’re taking a leaf out of the book of a totalitarian, intolerant, repressive, non-European, anti-democratic, (and Islamic, which is not the same as Muslim) dictatorship. And the United Arab Emirates boasts that a European Union member state and supposedly fully-fledged democracy wants to be more like they are.
