It makes sense already. But as you said, people don’t want (for the sake of their sanity, I suspect) to reach the only possible conclusion: that this is money-laundering on a grand scale, by the Prime Minister, his chief of staff and his favourite cabinet minister.

The thing that chills me most is Minister Mizzi’s reply to the question whether the Prime Minister was surprised when he found out about the Panama set up. “Why would he be?” replied the Minister, “He would be shocked had I not declared it.”

This means one of two things. Either the Prime Minister and Minister Mizzi are so crassly stupid and dumb about the futility and nonsense of the Panama set-up that they shouldn’t be trusted with high or low office either. Or they are money-launderers who likewise shouldn’t be trusted with any sort of public office at all, and should be in prison instead. There is no other explanation on the basis of what we know so far.

This is why a lot of readers are saying that Ms. Caruana Galizia must have more information because what we know so far doesn’t make one bit of sense without any of the above conclusions.
