It’s a safe conclusion that you bear me a bit of a grudge because I’d written, in my newspaper column, that you are not so much a victim as a clearly unfit parent who cared so little about your young son and daughter that you walked out of the house and left them with the mother whose viciousness you yourself were escaping. You were such a great father that when your ex wife turfed your children out onto the streets at night, they didn’t know how to contact you, and they either didn’t tell you, or you failed to do anything about it.

Sure, it’s a really bad thing that you ended up in prison because your daughter perjured herself and said you molested her. But face it, if you’d been a decent dad she would never have done it and things would never have got to that stage.

Your very young son died practically untended of cancer after a brief life of mental torture, and all you care about is the year you spent in prison.

If I’m the only person in Malta who thinks you deserved that year in prison if only for your failure to look after the children you brought into the world, then fine, so be it.
