The comparison, particularly as far as Berlusconi’s adventures – and, especially, misadventures – are concerned does not hold for Malta’s Opposition.

Admittedly, they are powerless – literally and constitutionally – to divert the way Muscat’s policies are affecting this island. Certainly, however, they are much more pro-active than either Trump’s or Berlusconi’s.

The question, of course, is which way will the scales ultimately tip at the next elections.
