THE CORRUPT LABOUR CLIQUE

Because using your long-standing position in the Labour Party, and/or your influence with it, to broker for yourself a sinecure for the rest of your working life, in a position which places you in judgement over others, and this also to the exclusion of those who are more fit for purpose, is corruption.

Here are Wenzu Mintoff, long-time editor of the Labour Party’s official newspaper, KullHadd, Toni Abela, long-time deputy leader of the Labour Party and the editor who replaced him, and Grazio Mercieca, failed Labour candidate and chief of staff to the Gozo Minister, Anton Refalo. They are photographed sitting and plotting at Otters, the seaside restaurant in Marsalforn, some months ago after Abela had been persuaded to step down from the deputy leadership to make way for the very corrupt Konrad Mizzi, and he did so even though this website had already revealed the news that Mizzi had set up a secret company in Panama sheltered by a trust in New Zealand immediately after being elected to power.

At that point, Wenzu Mintoff had been made a judge already. Tomorrow, Toni Abela is going to be made a judge, after being rejected for a position at the European Court of Auditors on the basis of his incompetence and his involvement in covering up cocaine-dealing at a Labour Party club. Tomorrow, too, Grazio Mercieca is to be made a magistrate.
