I assure you that, even if it is a strictly private visit, the expenses will be hidden under the line item ‘Communications’. That is why the Prime Minister is refusing to be transparent and give details about the amount spent on travel which is three times that budgeted.

He is also refusing to give details on his Ministry’s expenditure which is 8 million euros above the budgeted allocation given him by the Finance Minister and which was approved in Parliament, and about which the Minister of Finance said he would be monitoring the expenditure regularly himself.

As regards Luke Dalli, I am sure that we will soon see him being given a lucrative government post and, through Deborah Schembri, a likely questionable Planning Permit to build a nice villa for him and his future wife.

As regards the Noble Glenn Bedingfield, the less said the better and I postpone commenting till when he becomes a most honourable Minister of some sort.

Mr Dalli and Mr Bedingfield seem to have a good friendship. Holidays, boat trips, TV show…and now a child minding business.

I wouldn’t bother. The people who claim not to care who pays for the Prime Minister’s jaunts are those who vote for him. You can bet your last buck they cared who paid for Tonio Fenech’s dumb clock.
