Glenn Bedingfield and Luke Dalli holiday in Slovenia with the Prime Minister, Mrs Muscat and their children

Glenn Bedingfield, whose job in the Prime Minister’s office is the online harassment of those who criticise or oppose the government (evidence that the Prime Minister is not liberal and progressive, but rather the opposite), his close friend Luke Dalli, whose mother is the Civil Liberties Minister, and Luke Dalli’s fiancée have been on holiday in Slovenia with the Prime Minister, Mrs Muscat and their children

The party returned to Malta today via Treviso (“We were in transit, my dear”). The photograph shows the Prime Minister and Mrs Muscat leaving the airport, and the video shows Bedingfield, Dalli and Dalli’s fiancée coming off the plane.

This is not the first time Bedingfield and Dalli have taken ‘family holidays’ with the Prime Minister and Mrs Muscat. Bedingfield and the Prime Minister have even been spotted alone together at a Burger King in Rome late at night. And Bedingfield escorts Mrs Muscat to events and keeps her company with the children while the Prime Minister is otherwise occupied.

Why do they need to spend their holidays with their whole court in tow? Can’t they stand a few days alone together? Perhaps Luke and Glenn were there just for the ballast.

I wouldn’t want to risk using Air Malta either.

  • Claude Sciberras

So when we are flying on the public dime it’s all first class and VIP, but when it’s a family holiday we use Ryanair. I fly Ryanair regularly but the PM is sending a very bad signal to the national airline.

  • Sandra Smart Costantino

We did – no doubt about that.

  • Dizzy

I hear that this six months EU presidency lark will cost Malta anything up to 80 million euros.

Stupid article. Can’t the PM have a holiday? Who cares who pays for it.

  • No, he’s probably paying for the ticket himself.

  • I wouldn’t bother. The people who claim not to care who pays for the Prime Minister’s jaunts are those who vote for him. You can bet your last buck they cared who paid for Tonio Fenech’s dumb clock.

Silly me, I assumed he was being sarcastic.

Mr Dalli and Mr Bedingfield seem to have a good friendship. Holidays, boat trips, TV show…and now a child minding business.

I assure you that, even if it is a strictly private visit, the expenses will be hidden under the line item ‘Communications’. That is why the Prime Minister is refusing to be transparent and give details about the amount spent on travel which is three times that budgeted.

He is also refusing to give details on his Ministry’s expenditure which is 8 million euros above the budgeted allocation given him by the Finance Minister and which was approved in Parliament, and about which the Minister of Finance said he would be monitoring the expenditure regularly himself.

As regards Luke Dalli, I am sure that we will soon see him being given a lucrative government post and, through Deborah Schembri, a likely questionable Planning Permit to build a nice villa for him and his future wife.

As regards the Noble Glenn Bedingfield, the less said the better and I postpone commenting till when he becomes a most honourable Minister of some sort.

    • Luke Dalli has a lucrative government post already: with the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts.

  • Bogan. Lovely word. I think I’ll adopt it instead of the Maltese H-word, which upsets people so much.
