You’d be surprised! As Daphne has often said, some of them still stick up for them to justify how they voted and most will still be saying, ah but the Nationalists had corruption too.

Don’t forget that in 1987 with scandals frame-ups, murders, intermittent electricity water and telephone, etc, the Nationalist Party only won by 4,000 votes. So let’s not just assume that the tide will change automatically.

Don’t hold your breath. If each one of these ministers resigned, the cabinet would be halved by now. Unfortunately they’re all still standing in spite of every wrongdoing. It’s as though the scandals reinforce their stance in government with their supporters.

The worst aspect would be that he lies about it not out of shame or embarrassment but in order to try and “save his bacon” – not a difficult pursuit in Joseph Muscat’s government notorious for brazen toleration of scandals and corruption on a grand scale.
