In reply to CarrieErbag. His flats in Malta are rented out. If he uses one for himself, then he loses the rental income, so he's getting the taxpayer to provide him with a bachelor pad in town instead.

Why doesn’t he use one of the two flats that he already owns in Malta?

It’s his choice to be a member of parliament. If he is inconvenienced by an Act of God or a late session at the house, why on earth should the taxpayer have to foot the bill.

God, do you get taught at school to write sentences like that? Or is it something Maltese people learn in the office?

In plain English: ‘Will the Gozo Minister be using the place during the day as well as at night?’

And the answer is yes – he will be using it for meetings, because apparently his office in parliament is not enough.
