I think the government is on the defensive, since they haven’t stopped harping on about the deal, with all the press conferences and changing versions from day to day.

If they don’t feel the guilt they wouldn’t act this way.

I think yours is a too harsh a comment.

Granted I am still bewildered how Muscat could have conned all those thousands at the last general elections and at how I could see through the crap that he was peddling and thousands others couldn’t.

But let us not forget that the same electorate kept Labour out of government for 25 years except for short blip of 20 months.

Also that same electorate voted to join the EU (I know you will say that’s because of the money promised).

Let us not forget that those opinion polls, if one wants to believe them, also show that a good 30% are still dithering.

I for one do not believe that they have not made their mind up. I think the majority of them are afraid to give their opinion over the phone.

If that is the case, it should be a good omen, since quite obviously had they been in favour of Muscat they would have said so without much fear.

The Nationalist Party cannot attack the deal with a deputy Opposition leader who signed it off. If it does it will just mean that the deputy Opposition leader is accomplice to this rogue deal. Easy.

If someone gives the powerless party in Opposition a paltry €70,000 in an unsuccessful attempt to keep it from speaking about a stinking deal to buy a €250 million property for just €5 million, and pay one of its members for his services to compromise him and the Opposition, imagine the vast sums of money he would be willing to give to the party in government and to the key members of that government that make that deal possible in the first place first place, and proceed with that deal after that same businessmen practically admits that his donation was intended to corrupt the Opposition.
