Point to be made 2.1.

Point 2 above describes the circumstances when “the loan” was created and challenges the reason for that “loan.”
Now fast forward to the moment when “the loan” is being repaid.

One fine morning Keith Schembri finds two payments on account of “the loan” in his Pilatus bank account, which is presumably a highly confidential personal and private account in a highly suspicious bank.

It is most likely that Keith Schembri never made any payments in Malta from that account. How could Brian Tonna know that Keith Schembri had a bank account at Pilatus, if even the Prime Minister Joseph Muscat says that he doesn’t know about it?

The fact that Brian Tonna was the auditor of Schembri’s business is not a sufficient reason why Tonna should have known about the personal bank accounts of Schembri.

Schembri is in for another surprise. He finds that Tonna’s “loan repayment” has come from a BVI company. Why would Tonna ever want the fact that he holds a BVI company disclosed to his client Schembri?

A Cypriot company. Its shareholders are – via their BVI companies hidden by nominees – Keith Schembri, Pierre Sladden and Adrian Hillman. Don’t you people read?

Tonna, poor guy, needed a loan from Keith to leave his wife. Schembri, the good Samaritan, forked out the loan. Were the issue not that serious I’d be tickling myself. How absolutely outrageous, I’d be damned to believe such crap.

Excellent comments. Besides, why would Brian Tonna borrow from Keith Schembri or his companies (this needs to be clarified by Schembri), thereby compromising his independence from the client, when Brian Tonna had his own business entities from which he could withdraw funds?

On 20 June 2013, the Prime Minister inaugurated Nexia BT’s new 1,000 square metres office in San Gwann. Doesn’t look like Mr. Tonna was going through a bad financial patch at the time.
