I agree. “I can’t speak out/be seen at meetings because I have a family and a job”.

So find another job. And speaking out is a good example to your family.

Can you look yourself in the mirror each morning while benefiting from this corrupt system, either actively or passively?

Can you retain a shred of self-respect knowing that you justified keeping your head down by saying “but I have a job…. but I have a family…” all the while waiting for someone else to stick their neck out instead?

It’s not like Nazi Germany, where those who speak out risk having themselves and their families carted off to certain death. What’s the worst that could happen to you if you speak up? Getting fired from a job? Is any job worth bowing down to slime like Joseph Muscat and his friends?

And what’s the best that can happen? Other people who are thinking the same thing see what you’re doing and stand up too.

Muscat’s days are numbered. The only question at this point is how it will play out, and how bad the damage will be to Malta.

The more people who sit on incriminating information because they’re afraid, the more people who won’t protest because someone might snap their photo and tell the boss, the more people who justify not speaking up because they want to hide rather than fight back, the worse this is going to get.

Where did it come from, this mentality of “keep your head below the parapet and hope it passes me by”? This sitting on the fence and waiting to see which way the wind will blow before committing to the winning side?

I’m not accusing you of that personally, though your comment speaks in favour of it. I’d really like to know. I would feel so ashamed if every time the bully walked past I lowered my eyes and looked at the floor.

On election, Labour spends months if not years investigating PN administrations and local councils (on Labour’s elections) without finding anything to accuse the PN. These wasted opening days of local or central government wither down their enthiusiasm in governing and delivering.
