Joseph Muscat admitted several times that his lack of action vis-a-vis Konrad Mizzi and Keith Schembri had been a mistake for which he is paying a political price.

Yesterday he also said that he didn’t ask them to resign because he needed them for ‘projects’. Which projects were so dependent on Keith Schembri?

Yet although he said it was a ‘mistake’ – rather than bad governance, because he’s in the same boat with them – he’s allowing Konrad Mizzi to contest the elections AGAIN.

If he’s giving Konrad Mizzi another chance, as if an election might erase his face from the Panama Papers documents, it follows that he’ll also be making Keith Schembri his chief of staff once more if Labour gets elected.

There is talk in Labour circles of how Muscat said that Keith Schembri is out of the equation, but he NEVER said anything of the sort. They’re passing that rumour around only to calm down those angry Labour supporters who are actually seeing the web of corruption for what it really is.
