I’m guessing you don’t know that, irrespective of whether the wife is designated ‘doctor’ or not in her individual capacity, the correct form of address remains DR & MRS DELIA. This is because it is the truncated version of DR & MRS ADRIAN DELIA.

That shows how unfamiliar you are with marriages of that nature – or more precisely, with men of that nature. They could be running up debts to oblivion, but they’re damned if their wife is going to have access to money from a source they don’t control 100% (so that they can cut if off when they wish to secure their wife’s cooperation). And depriving the wife of access to her own money is not the only reason men like that make it impossible for their wife to work or actively prevent her from doing so. The other reason is that THEY want to be the sole source of their wife’s social access and they also want to control where she goes and what she does, so that she can’t gain access to close friends (who might become allies against the husband) or worse still, men. This is the man who boasted about smashing up the house because his wife talked to another man for five minutes, remember.

I would agree with you completely as in, ‘do not judge a man before you know him’ – but what about when you DO know him through his past?

What about a person who has been given a chance to redeem himself and fails?

Would you still give this person a second chance and put him in a position to run your country, your family, your children BEFORE he has cleared his name?
