Worried about mockery, Qormi mayor tries to withhold permit for this year’s Banana Festival

I have it on good authority that the mayor of Hal Qormi, Rosianne ‘Nuxellina’ Cutajar, argued during a council meeting that the organisers should not be given a permit to hold their Banana Festival in the town this year after all the mockery she and the Qormi council received last year.

But the organisers came up with a cunning plan. Their Qormi Banana Festival has morphed into the Qormi Tropical Fruit Festival.
