Former Police and Army Minister’s wife is a fan of cannabis and wants to see it sold openly

I can’t work out whether Codruta Mallia is totally bats, stupid or just unbelievably arrogant and condescending. You have to be a mix of all three to be married to the former Police and Army Minister but then publicly root in favour of cannabis on Facebook, while disparaging and insulting those who don’t agree with you.

That would be the case even if her husband were not as closely associated as he actually is with certain types of Paceville operators, let alone when he is, thereby exposing him and his dumb wife to the accusation that the real reason they want the sale of cannabis to be legalised is to create another wide-open lucrative market for his Paceville-operator clients.

David Camilleri, who campaigns for the legalisation of cannabis in Malta, is a member of Alternattiva Demokratika’s executive and stood on that party’s ticket in the last general election. His father was the late Labour MP from Gozo, Anglu Camilleri aka Il-Bedeq.

He is not in his early 20s, as his Facebook posts suggest, but is two years my senior and married with four children, which indicates to me that he is just as batty as Mrs Manuel Mallia.
