Michelle Muscat spends €114 of your money on petrol every week
The Prime Minister was obliged to say in parliament tonight, in reply to a question put by the Opposition whip, that his ‘second’ state-funded car – that would be the one used by his wife – uses an average of 87 litres of petrol at a cost of €114 every week.
In other words, his wife spends €44 more in public money on petrol every week than the Prime Minister does for his official car, guzzling 38 litres more per week than the past-its-best family Alfa which her husband rents out to the state.
That ‘second car’, the Prime Minister said, has been in their service since March 2014.
By comparison, the Opposition leader – who was reported to the police by the Speaker of the House for “suspiciously high fuel consumption” – spends just €75 a week on 56 litres.
