Nice work if you can get it: share your government-minister boss’s videos and photos on your personal Facebook page (even though your boss doesn’t have a portfolio anymore), and collect a generous state salary and perks in return.

Not that many of would fancy the perks – and that includes Mrs Mizzi, who emigrated permanently to China to get away from them.

Mrs Mizzi’s contract with the government of Malta expired two months ago. Has anybody bothered to ask whether she’s come home to Malta, given that the excuse they gave for her sudden departure to the other side of the world was that she was sacrificing herself for Malta because nobody else could do the job?
