We all know by now that DoctorJosephMuscat is a special boy, and it’s not because he’s what is known in the local vernacular as a ‘ginger’.
But this time, things have gone a little too far, and he’s setting his own date for the leadership election. While the rest have to make do with 5 June, he gets to go it alone on 5 July.

@ Daphne I cannot “enter website”.
[Moderator – That’s because it’s what’s called a screen capture.]
This is like when Jason got the number of new voters wrong on Xarabank.Instead of 34,000, he told Peppi that there where 17,000.Then Joe Saliba corrected him.
This is embarasing!
Big Brother Martin Schultz’s endorsment , and the ‘leaked ‘ report to The Times against comrade Michael , sent Ginger Joe to the future.
Who would want somebody like that (who can’t even get the leadership election date right) to – possibly – run our country?
John Schembri – Try josephmuscat.com
Reminds me of the misprints in MLP’s electoral programme. Daphne, is that a result of a superior DNA?
Poodle, does your endorsement by PES whotsit constitute ‘Indhil Barrani’?
The Poodle picking up another endorsement…

Who would want somebody like that……? Lawrence Gonzi of course ! So far we have been regaled with his premolars ad nauseam. If this farce continues to its foregone conclusion we will be having his wisdom teeth on our TV screens breakfast, lunch and supper time. Lawrence Gonzi will be relegated to San Anton in 2033 after a 29 year stint as PM. San Pawl Nawfragu Missierna idhol ghalina. Is it possible that a party with 50% of the national vote cannot produce a leader who has the potential to lead this little state of ours in the eventality that LG goes bananas on nearing 80 ? I am beginning to think that it would be better if Doktorelfrid comes back from the dead for a year or two until his fellow labourites are in the right state of mind to elect a successor with a DNA helix that is fit for purpose. They are presently suffering from post traumatic stress disorder which is rendering them incapable of deciding rationally.
Quoting from yesterday’s TMI “Replying to a question on whether Mr Schultz was aware Dr Muscat had stood against Malta’s EU accession, Dr Muscat commented, “the 2003 chapter is closed”, and that he had not even voted in the referendum.”
What shall we call Martin Shultz’s endorsement of Joe Muscat ; “Power of Incumbency” , “Foreign Interference” or “Politics of Opportunism”?
It could be the three of them.
Daphne writes ” Well, at least it isn’t the Fourth of July ”
Witnessing “le quatorze julliet ” (bastille day) cannot be ruled out.
I can only say that Joe Muscat or one of his elves, have a real interest in this blog -as of today the date is correct i.e. 5th June!!
Joseph Muscat did not vote in the referendum. Must have been obeying the boss. Then he ended up with a cushy job in the european parliament. Now he is aiming to be the leader of the opposition and in the future Prime Minister of Malta.
I am looking into my crystal ball and viewing a Labour mass meeting, with woman admirers up front waving their little red flags, not knowing what he is saying. They are just there to see their “Gustuz gingerman taghhom”
Joseph Muscat will be saying much the same as Alfred Sant, as we all know he is the poodle and proud of it.
I had high hopes for JM but it looks like Labour is hell bent on the road to self destruction. The report on defeat (which was a great job) has laid bare the incredible state of disarray in which the party now stands. And a lot of people didn’t notice the Mtarfa Local Council result – a split by Labour supporters took away votes and delivered the council into the PN’s hands for the first time. It is definitely a sign of things to come if the MLP don’t get their act together. At this stage, it doesn’t look likely.
So Dr Joe Muscat should thank those of us who, unlike him, voted in the referendum!
Is it too much to ask our prospective Prime Minister why he didn’t vote in the referendum? Was it because he was abroad? Or, because he hadn’t had time? Or was it to copy the Leader?
The answer would surely help us (those who cared to vote for European Union membership) to understand more what he means when he says that his goal is to see Malta among the best in the European Union.
How can il-Ginger have the gumption to aspire to be the PM of this country when he refused to participate in a plebiscite? When your country asks you to give your opinion on political issues that will affect your nation? Imbaghad jipprezenta ruhu ghall-elezzjoni ta’ Parlament Ewropew?!
And then to further add insult to injury…foisting the PES whotshisname upon the poor delegates!
The moniker Dr Pushy fits him to a tee.
Maybe Mr Shultz should see this about Joe Muscat:
‘The disagreement featured dueling predictions of whether joining the union would be a boon or a bust for the Maltese economy.
“It would lead to an erosion of competitiveness for our country,” said Joseph Muscat, a senior official with the opposition Labor Party, which fervently opposes membership.
In a telephone interview, Mr. Muscat also said the structure of European Union government meant that a country like Malta “really doesn’t have any type of voice.”‘
And this a day or so after the referendum – http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=950DE3D61F3FF933A25750C0A9659C8B63
