The Puttinu Cares saga continues

Here’s Anna Mallia, writing in Malta Today.

Of course it was nice to see Mrs Kate Gonzi, the Prime Minister’s wife, and Mrs Michelle Muscat, the wife of the leader of the Opposition, attending the ceremony together with the Archbishop. I must however mention that people who were present reported to yours truly that HSBC offered to provide transport only to Mrs Gonzi and the Archbishop and Mrs Muscat had to walk it in the rain to the building where the inauguration was held. Maybe this was a slip on the part of HSBC’s public relations department and it is a pity that Mrs Muscat let this go unattended.

Anna, listen to me carefully: Michelle Muscat wasn’t invited. Norman Hamilton flew her there and imposed her presence on the organisers, the chairman of the foundation, and other guests. One does not ordinarily provide transport for those who are trying to gatecrash your party. The Archbishop? Apparently, in his naivety, he got suckered into a Norman Hamilton trip as well – the idea, I imagine, being to give MIZZZIIZZZZZ Michelle Muscat a photo-op with the church’s boss-man. She would have had that photo-op last Sunday, had she gone to the Remembrance Sunday ceremony, but she preferred to do a Dick Whittington. You know, I’m beginning to think that people like Anna Mallia and other True Believers think I’m inventing things when I say that Michelle Muscat wasn’t asked on that trip and busted her way in with the help of Normint Bla Agenda.

I truly beleive that we are dealing with 2 nauseating and immature kids. It’s not ridiclous any more, but it’s becoming hysterical.

  2. Chris II says:

Not only ridiculous and hysterical but more importantly dangerous – do not forget he stands a good chance of becoming Prime Minister.

  3. C Chircop says:

It is truly unfair that this ceremony was politicised by MLP. Although PN were re-elected by a narrow margin, it does not give MLP the right to see themselves on par with the government. MLP is in opposition not in a coalition.

Daph, ruhi, one wouldn’t expect Anna Mallia to know any better. After all, she is bereft of social graces herself.

    [Daphne – She’s actually a very kind-hearted person, though.]

  5. Corinne Vella says:

C Chircop: Whether the MLP is in opposition or in a coalition is beside the point. Mrs Gonzi was there as the foundation’s chairman.

  6. Meerkat :) says:

Being kind-hearted is not enough. One also needs manners.

    Ms.DCG
You and your accolytes should be ashamed of themselves!:read the Malta Independent of 14/11/2008 and then say you were wrong and sorry:it is not enough to know well the english language, you should understand the english system of fairplay:or was it a good story anyway!I am NOT an MLP supporter but you should have the chin of a man when your broadside is proved wrong.

[Daphne – Actually, it was the newspaper that got it wrong.]

What do you mean the newspaper got it wrong? Were all the newspapers wrong? Admit it Ms. Caruana Galizia YOU got it wrong!

[Daphne – No. I didn’t get it wrong. I got the story direct from the people who had to cope with these contraventions of protocol and the consequences of having the event gatecrashed by the wife of the leader of the Opposition, with the archbishop tagging along for good measure. Precisely because of that protocol and sheer good manners, the organisers can’t very well come right out with it and say that she wasn’t invited. So, just in case you still can’t accept the truth, this is it: Michelle Muscat wasn’t invited. Kate Gonzi was there not because she is married to the prime minister, but because she is chairman of the fund. The archbishop was not invited either. Both Mrs Muscat and the archbishop were sent there by Norman Hamilton Travel, who paid for the trip. Mrs Muscat took the Super One cameras with her, invading the privacy of the families using the flats, and the sick children. No transport was provided for her because she was a gatecrasher, not a guest. Her breach of protocol and good manners caused a great deal of consternation among the organisers, who were very, very upset. She and her people did not even have the decency to inform their official host/ess, the chairman of the fund, that they would be going. She had to find out through third parties. Shocking bad behaviour, I’m afraid.]
