You can almost hear this woman holding her breath all the way across the Atlantic
Posted beneath the timesofmalta.com story on how Joseph Muscat wrote to Barack Obama. Well said, lady. You betcha.

As a Maltese citizen who had migrated to the States a little less than a year ago, I have logged on to my favourite newspaper to see how Malta has taken the news of Obama’s election and I was surprised to see that it was JM and not our PM who congratulated the new president elect of the States. Hopefully I am just ignorant when it comes to protocol! From the comments below I am seeing that many are projecting Obama’s election to Malta’s partisan scenario and equating (in some psychotic hallucination) the first black president elect of the US to our fair-skinned opposition leader. Obama was not elected because he is black but because he is a beam of hope for a country who is facing a terrible economic crisis, two wars and a failed health plan system. His speeches have moved millions into change and his charisma is felt on a global scale.I am sure that Mr Muscat is a great spokesperson for his party and a good opposition leader but please let’s keep everything in perspective.
