More wisdom from the people: massage the council by taking the road less travelled

The speed camera operator has made an investment it aims to recoup. As motorists we should make an effort to abide by the set limits to prevent the operator from getting a return on the investment. This advice goes also for petty traffic infringements. The warden service can be made bankrupt if there are no fines collected. Not paying a fine is not an option as the Government has made renewal of car licenses subject to having paid pending fines. If you cannot trust yourself to avoid getting zapped by speed camera, use secondary roads going through towns and villages. The local councils will get the massage. If we allow them to get their money’s worth, more speed cameras will be installed after the June elections.

What do ewe pretend, Def? Thet all comments are writed proper???????!!!!!!!!!!
Speed cameras instil discipline of which we have very little in our islands:it is also right and proper that if you do not pay your fines the road licence is not renewed.
@Amanda Mallia – Lovely! ‘pretend’ is one of the ones that irritate me the most. And also complain when used as a noun instead of complaint. I so need to stop reading these comments, but sadly I’m addicted, it’s like a disease. I need a cure! Or should that be cure!!!!!!!!

We must uphold our Catholic values against the daily invasion must we not?
Why do I suspect that had one of the effing bastards been black the punishment would not have been such a joke!
The comments are hilarious. However, they are so numerous it is sad.

Lets create a diplomatic crisis and pass the EU as a fool. Pack them up in a boat and lend them in France and than let them loose also fill a plane with them and lend them in Brussels.
[Daphne – Unless there is another Luke Frendo, this is a case of somebody assuming the identity of someone else with malicious intent. Luke Frendo is the son of former foreign minister Michael Frendo, and there is no way on earth that he would have written this – not just on the basis of the sentiments expressed, but the poor writing.]
