Running Commentary demands the immediate resignation of chairman Paul Cardona, Astrid Vella and the rest of the FAA committee, for deceptively concealing from The People the fact that chairman Paul Cardona was the applicant for the development of Dock No. 1, even while they praised the project and tried to press-gang the government into paying for the car-park.
Resign! Resign forthwith! The People at Running Commentary demand it. I have a petition of 850 false names to back me up.

Resign from what? FAA people and their sympathisers are free to do as they please …..
They are free to impose their values on everybody else. They will pester you with their pseudo pro-environment values until you puke, and if you have some authority and, god forbid, you express an opinion remotely similar to their own, they will quote you and misquote you till doomsday.
If you sit on a board which takes a decision not to their liking, they are free to attack your integrity; they will make your name public. They will use letters to the editor to twist information like Plasticene to “prove” that the decision is wrong. They are free to call for your resignation if they so wish – with their systematic manipulation of sections of the media, nobody will raise a finger to object to their obscenities.
If you dare express an opinion not to their liking in the media, they will orchestrate letters to the editor against you. They will twist what you say beyond recognition and spice it up with derogatory adjectives. They turn nasty if they have to, if that is what it takes to shut you up.
They circulate petitions with misinformation and add a few false signatures to inflate the numbers. They play politics. They pick and choose which projects to shoot down and generally allow themselves to be used by one business interest against another.
Yes they are free to do all this … but they need not resign ….. ever ……because they are accountable to no one.

mc, you’re really, really good in analysing FAA. And they are more Maltese and more Catholic than practically all of us (I was going to say “than most of us” but that would have left a little too many with them – so, I didn’t say that).

I have always wondered why FAA are so trigger-happy with their calls for resignation. DCC board members, MEPA board members and now the Cathedral Foundation. Why were they so insistent in calling for the resignation of the Foundation? Could it be that there is someone waiting in the wings, hiding behind FAA, hoping to get himself appointed on the Foundation? Maybe history does repeat itself after all.
