“I interrupt my MAGISTER JURIS Studies on EU LAW & its INSTITUTIONS to PROTEST vehemently at this sham of a Photo of Malta`s new President. As a Photographer myself, whoever organized this Photo Session should ponder what it means to capture the spirit of the new slogan UNITY IN DIVERSITY plus the normal character of long-time acquaintance GEORGE, my friend and colleague. The photograph chosen is a disaster, carnivalesque in its colour combination, makes The President look most uncomfortable in that chair not suitable for George`s desired feelings to be close to the People he represents, and the shadows on his face make him unrecognizable.Dear George for FREE I volunteer to take the photo of yourself myself, even though I am down under with commitments. THE DOI SHOULD BE REORGANIZED AT PERMITTING THIS IDIOTIC PHOTO TO MAKE ITS WAY TO THE MEDIA & IT IS AN OUTRIGHT INSULT TO DR GEORGE ABELA AND THE PRESIDENT SHOULD SHOVE OFF WHOEVER TOOK THESE PHOTOS, THIS ONE IN PARTICULAR. THE COMPOSITION IS HORRID,THAT MANTLE CLOCK IS OUT OF PLACE. DISASTROUS!”

Brilliant magazine. I particlarly enjoyed Emma’s sojourn in Rome. All those places are favourite haunts as well……

Great recipes – especially, thanks for that special on coeliacs.

Your description about tea and cakes at Palazzo Parisio has made my mouth water. Must make it a point to visit the place in the near future.

[Daphne – It’s well worth it: quite apart from the food and service, it’s a haven away from the general crassness and ugliness of life in Malta. I so often feel like I’m wandering about in a Maltese-speaking version of Eastenders or Footballers’ Wives, except that it’s not on television but in your face, and so not amusing.]
