How much is that heroine in the window?

Try as they might, they couldn't fit me into a Jiffy bag
Here’s another prize-winning headline from the Labour Party’s English-language news portal:
Police find heroine, packed and ready to be sold
I thought it was a story about the white-slave trade, so I clicked on it and found that it was all about a police raid that yielded ‘packets of heroine’. Perhaps the hero had chopped her up into little bits for easy storage.

For once you’re wrong Daphne. Maltastar rightly spelled it as “heroine”. I checked with a reliable police source and it really was “heroine” after all. Actually “Heroine soap”, same brand as on the Jolly Roger. The police were duped again.

So it looks like you owe Maltastar an apology this time Daphne!
This soap on the yacht looked like this but came in green.

Well I always thought heroin was the drug and heroine a female hero.
[Daphne – And you are right.]
Some people in the US do use the word heroine in reference to the drug. maltastar’s problem is that it puts heroine in the title and heroin in the article. Perhaps there was a change of shift.
[Daphne – In English, it’s heroin; so unless Maltastar is going to begin speaking about fanny-packs and pocket-books…]
Priceless.
Wrong Daphne, they are talking about Tomb Raider DVDs.
