It's not only snails that leave trails

I've left a trail....
John Attard Montalto does, too.
Here’s his advert in today’s newspaper:
My political trail in Malta and Gozo –
14 tents
17 rallies
21 social activities
63 public discussions
….campaigning counts
I’ve tried to work out what he’s trying to say here. Put me in the European Parliament because I’ve proved my commitment to the campaign trail in Malta (and Gozo….)?
It’s true that John campaigns hard at street level, and that’s one of the reasons he gets elected sparat. The other reason is that his surname begins with A.
if he wants newspaper-readers to vote for him, he has to tell us of his track record in the European Parliament – apart from pressing the wrong buttons and taking many cruises – and not of his track record campaigning at the Horseshoe Hall.

Baffling. Had the same thoughts while reading this advert!
This guy is a bleeding disgrace. All he’s done in his time as MEP is collect his salary. Otherwise he’s just been a waste of space. The sad thing is that he will now be drawing a hefty pension for the rest of his life, although I have to say that the list of MEPs who were equally useless is long and distinguished.
I just saw his advert – at least he’s being honest. Campaigning counts!
I find it appalling to say the least, when I saw his adverts on the same newspaper showing the current MEP’s track records, his being the worst.
On that day, his advert finished with ‘Experience Counts’…. experience of what? Of dodging his duties parhaps? We don’t need people like him there!
Besides all the free-loading fringe benefits the MEPs get, he will also be able to add “well travelled” to his CV.
