Ahjar nidhku milli nibku. Get a load of these, thanks to the Modica council – it’s probably one of the few times you won’t find somebody else’s holiday snaps as boring as hell (but that’s not counting Dumbo on his elephant in India, of course).

I think the question we are all begging to ask is, where is his family? After all wasn’t it a family vacation?
Could they have had with them an underpaid, non-NI-contributor, non-tax-paying Filippina nanny? Just wondering, since they seem to be the latest “acquisition” for up-and-coming wannabes.
Daphne, Dumbo was cute
Muscat looks like somebody you’d expect to find behind a hardware store counter. Really impressive.
Always supporting the workers – in this case ‘tal-monti’.
E mela! what you talking about Daphne?! He’s put on his favorite ‘Lacowstt’ zip up for the occasion!
I’d rather not comment on l-ispettur’s oversized squalid blazer…not to mention Michelle’s shoes in the previous post.
That’s killed Sicily for a lot of us hasn’t it?
Well, doesn’t matter, at least McD’s are here as well.
[Daphne – That’s what I meant when I said ‘there goes the neighbourhood’.]
It has been long coming. On 10th August 2007 Anglu Farrugia had also met the then Mayor Piero Torchi. He was on holiday there and was also accompanied by a group of other Maltese. I don’t know why the event was described as ”colourful”
@Amanda Mallia
I happen to employ a Filipina nanny – I guess I am an up-and-coming-wannabe :)
To set the record straight, Filipina nannies have work permits, pay NI and taxes, and receive proper salaries. You seem to assume that Filipinas are idiots – they are not. I would not trust my kids with one if they were.
Every time they leave the country (to go home on vacation for example – fully paid by the employer, by the way), we have to get a sticker for their passport. The immigration police check that their NI and taxes are fully paid up before issuing such passes – so frankly I have no idea what you are talking about.
I am sure that some people try to abuse the system, however the great majority of wannabes play by the rules.
Has anyone seen the advert before the 6 minute interviews on timesofmalta.com? Is that a PL or PN advert?
Because unless I am missing something, and please tell me if I am, it should be the other way round if it is indeed a PL sponsored ad.
(Re first snapshot) All the Sicilian swords are pointing at your head, Anglu. I wonder why.
And this is written by Anglu’s offspring:

[Daphne – “On the same October 2005 holiday my parents Carmen and Angelo decided that they wanted to spend a day in Catania . On the way there we came across the Auchan hypermarket, so instead of spending the day in Catania we spent the day at the Auchan, which we truly enjoyed anyhow. It did not take us long to arrive from Ragusa to Auchan even though at the time we did not yet own a GPS. ………….Now we have learnt to go around by ourselves and we managed to find a hypermarket just off Ragusa called Centro Commerciale Ibleo.” Ahahahahaha – stop! You’re killing me. Ustja, tghid “simply divine” u “to die for” it-tifla tal-deputat mexxej! Kemm ahna up-and-cumink. At least she can punctuate her sentences unlike papa tal-magna cum laude. I can’t stop laughing. Anglu Farrugia and the Amazing Adventure of a Day at the Auchan Hypermarket – x’inhu l-Lidl, eh? X’mentalita bazwija.]
Ma’ tantx huma “upmarket” … Hilarious! Look at the “bed and breakfast” place Anglu Farrugia’s daughter said they “normally” stayed in (presumably before buying a toqba-mhux-fil-gzejjer-Maltin):

“The rooms are tidy and comfortable and one need ask for nothing else” – Or, as Mrs Bucket might have said, there’s room for … an elephant!
(The link was provided by the daughter herself, in the link provided by Chris II above … http://www.frigintini.it/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=79 )
The best bit of Ms Farrugia’s “essay”, however, must be this:
“There are all the facilities one would expect to find. The beach is equipped with toilets and also showers, including a tap in the street where one can finally rinse one’s feet before putting on the sandals. In we still linger way behind in these things.”
She certainly didn’t know what it was like to live in Sliema in the early 1980s, when we didn’t even have water in our taps at home, let alone on the beach.
This is proving to be very entertaining.
“What impressed me in Marina di Ragusa is the amount of make-shift tens which were erected where street hawkers displayed all their wares and where we bought quite a few things with very cheap prices, including, fancy hair clips, wind chimes which now I sport in my room, hand-held fans and costume jewellery etc.”
The link below has nothing to do with this topic but I simply had to post it.

I just cannot believe the guy could very easily be our next deputy prime minister. God, even Zeza tal-Cairo Bar would make a better deputy. Come on D, please tell me I’m having a nightmare.
