  2. M. Cilia says:

Students should be advised not to read the timesofmalta.com comments board as the spelling and grammar would be very detrimental to their education.

    • John Azzopardi says:

Not just the comment boards, but the reports themselves! They are full of grammatical mistakes and pidgin English. Just read the report about the sentencing of former Chief Justice Arrigo in today’s paper. Incredible.

      • Anthony Farrugia says:

Subediting or proofreading, call it what you will, has gone to the dogs at the Times (of Malta). Even Rev George Dalli was reported as Rev George Vella (who?).
Now as posts on line, they should be moderated as to content but as to spelling and grammar, leave as is; they make my 10 o’clock coffee go down with a pinch of humour while showing all and sundry that teaching of English has gone to the dogs. We cannot any more use”widespread knowledge and use of English” as a plus for would-be investors in Malta! Pidgin Maltenglish has become the norm.

  3. NGT says:

Sorry, I don’t get it. What does she mean exactly?

A policeman who commit a crime gets double the punishment of an ordinary citizen!I believe that a former chief justice his sentence is triple that of the 2 mentioned!!
This makes believe more not to trust our justice and that corruption is waving her hands as well!!

It is all about hands lately. Even ‘corruption is waving her hands’. Sorry, but even if I try to translate literally into maltese, I still do not get the meaning.

  4. Leonard says:

These are the people who will be giving us Joseph Muscat as our next prime minister. Sad.

  5. rita camilleri says:

Can you see better with manicured hands? If so I will be as blind as a bat.

  6. Wayne says:

I simply can’t understand, the fact that nowadays many people, still can’t write English properly. For god’s sake, we’re living in the 21st century.

  7. Garth says:

    @Wayne

So, true, it’s, incredible, and their, use of comas, useless,
