  1. Monique says:

Now let’s see all the green-eyed (figuratively-speaking, naturally) journalists retract their – ahem – journalistic efforts of the past days wherein they rubbished you, rather than thanking you for bringing such a “problem” to the fore.

  2. Lino Cert says:

I guess it’s game, set and match to you, Daphne.

  3. Marku says:

She’s closed her Facebook account but is she still partying with the Super One gang?

[Daphne – Probably. She’s a long-time expert in clandestine encounters.]

  4. maryanne says:

It is about time they mention your name in relation to this matter. You have been dscussing it for the last three weeks and everybody was very afraid to mention you by name. But I guess the ground has been tried and tested, now that the Chief Justice and the Commission have spoken.

  5. Snice says:

Whatever the outcome of your legal battle with Consuelo, you’ve still won the war. I don’t know if it would be appropriate to walk into court with the V sign at the next session.

[Daphne – The most appropriate V-sign would be under a pair of semi-transparent white trousers, I would imagine, or exposed at the top of some low-rise ‘ginns’.]

  6. Silverbug says:

The judiciary have still not tackled the real problem. The issue is not the Facebook account – that is the symptom, not the illness. The Kummissjoni Amministrazzjoni tal-Gustizzja needs to tackle, and seriously, the ‘social life’ of judges and magistrates. The members have to be irreproachable. Keep at it, Daphne. First round to you but the endgame is still in play.

  7. Twanny says:

TVM, nowadays, is just an extension of NET News controlled by the PN – like you. So what is your point in posting this?

[Daphne – You would say that when it’s something you don’t wish to hear. My point in posting this is giving people a way to listen to it if they missed the actual broadcast, given that it is so interesting.]

    • il-Ginger says:

This is something I find particularly funny about Labourites. Like the communists, if there is something they don’t like, then it’s a lie.

  8. Twanny says:

“ġins” not “ginns” – those come out of a lamp.

  9. Rita Camilleri says:

Good for you, Daphne, and about time too! You fought this battle alone and won all the rounds. Keep up the good work. We need more people like you who are not afraid to speak the truth.

  10. jomar says:

    Iz-zejt dejjem jitla f’wicc l-ilma!

  11. jomar says:

The Times today reports as follows: “The Commission for the Administration of Justice has amended the code of ethics for magistrates and judges barring them from becoming members of social network sites such as Facebook”

This appears to be a case of ‘forced ethics’ imposed on judges and magistrates.

Since this is a new amendment to the code of ethics, does this mean that the Honourable Magistrate will only have to observe the new code from this day on and that her past unworthy (to say the least) behaviour is all forgotten and forgiven?

If the previous code did not specify certain conducts on public media because it was written before the advent of social network sites, was it not up to the judgment of the magistrate to stay away from controversial situations?

Instead she ignored the risks, the possible public reaction and the dignity of her role in society.

Round one definitely goes to Daphne.

  12. Ian says:

I see they showed the word “shagging” on day time television on TVM.
