Would you buy a used flat from this man?

If I'm lucky she might think I'm Robert Musumeci

If I'm lucky she might think I'm Robert Musumeci

It would have been so neat if he were now a used car salesman. But no, he’s a real estate agent.

This is Consuelo Herrera’s ‘friend’, former police superintendent Patrick Spiteri, who was sacked from the police force and prosecuted for extortion in connection with illegal gambling and stealing a firearm from police HQ.

He’s the one who sent drinks to our table, the drinks we wanted to send back and which she accepted on our behalf.

He looks so much like Michael Cassar…..I must say. He’s about half his height, for a start.

Was he the one bragging about extended holidays in the Caribbean?

[Daphne – No, the other one was.]

  2. S K says:

It might increase the chance of being able to avoid the estate agent fees!

  3. Rover says:

Thanks for the photo Daphne. Anyone who can come up with the slightest similarity with the AC has a free drink on me.

  4. Isard du Pont says:

This picture should jog the magistrate’s deficient memory. This man was the constant companion of that ‘ufficjal tal-ambaxxata Amerikana’ she mentioned – a short, irritating twerp and junior employee called Matt, who really liked to mix it up and who was a Consuelo groupie. I always wondered when those people actually did any work.

  5. Alan says:

Are we to assume that he has to ask permission from the court every time he goes to the office or show potential clients property ?

    1. They’re both male.
    2. They’re both Maltese citizens.
    3. They both have 2 eyes, 2 ears, one nose, one chin.

    Where’s my free drink?

  7. Anthony Farrugia says:

Before he was ousted from the police force, did he serve at St. Julians police station? Your pic jogged my memory of a shortish man with a tash.

[Daphne – I’ve no idea where he was stationed. He came to my attention through Magistrate Herrera, so I’ve only seen him in restaurants and at the occasional ‘reception’.]

  8. Spectre Sleaze says:

Oh look who made it to Daphne’s blog! Good old “Sergeant Pipes” – turned out that pipes were better than pips.

  9. H.P. Baxxter says:

How the FUCK do these people find jobs after being sacked from another job for corruption? I mean for fuck’s sake, this is Crime and Punishment writing itself. And an estate agent, mind! Not some machine operator whose only task is to press a few switches. No. An estate agent. Brokering and overseeing the transfer of vast sums of money. Selling a product. Selling us his word and his integrity.

    Is there any hope left?

    • Leonard says:

Baxxter, there’s a parable about an employee who had been screwing his master (not literally) and knew he was about to get fired, so he started to plan for what lay ahead by slashing debtor accounts. The best generals are those who have a sound plan for retreat.

Wheels within wheels, even in the job market.

ABANDON THIS F**KING ISLAND WHILE YOU CAN.

They do not resemble each other at all. However even if they were a split pea in appearance it would make no difference. If I met and socialised with one of identical twins, I would know it’s not the other.

    • OMG I thought you were Robert says:

Imnalla Musumeci mhuhiex tewmi, jekk ma tafx tara d-differenza bejn Cassar u Spiteri.

  12. Ian says:

    @ Anthony Farrugia

Yes he did. I thought I knew his face somewhere. He dealt with a complaint that I lodged at Saint Julians police station in 2002. He convinced me to sign a paper relinquishing my rights to proceed with my complaint while I was injured and in a state of shock, in his office with my assailant sitting opposite me!

A few hours later, upon returning to my normal state of mind, I remember thinking (apart from what a wally I had just been to sign that declaration) “I don’t trust that man”. Hmmm…

  13. Noggy123 says:

Yesterday she sent a person to prison for a year, but she should judge herself first before judging others. Besides, it does not seem right for her to preside over cases until this fracas is over.

  14. emanuel says:

Daphne, I reckon you are making a lot of enemies. Be careful cause you don’t know what they will be up to.

    [Daphne – So what’s new?]

  15. Ciccio2010 says:

Who said the Maltese economy was not creating new jobs?

  16. Looking for a used flat says:

If the magistrate can sell that she mistook Michael Cassar for Patrick Spiteri, then this man can sell penthouses on the Cupola of St Peters.

  17. Riya says:

For such a small place, Malta sure has a lot of a**holes.

  19. ATTENT 01 says:

YES HE WAS STATIONED AT ST JULIANS POLICE STATION……AND EVERYONE KNEW HIM SO NO MORE COMMENTS ARE NEEDED.

  20. Anthony says:

Can of worms ? This is a 40 foot container full. No wonder they tried to eliminate Cassar.

  21. Grezz says:

I have reason to believe that he was also posted in Sliema around the first half of 2001.
