Island Caterers are more important than the Commission for the Administration of Justice

Magistrate Herrera told the court that the Commission for the Administration of Justice has reached a decision on a report it received about property deals in Gozo, and that it has cleared her of all suspicion of wrong-doing in this regard.
It turns out that this is not true, and that the investigation is on-going.
Funny, isn’t it? Magistrate Herrera asked the court whether she should bring witnesses to confirm the receipts issued by the caterers at her ‘charity events’.
But she didn’t offer to summon witnesses from the Commission for the Administration of Justice to confirm that their enquiry has been concluded.

If what she said is not true, wouldn’t it be perjury? Are lawyers allowed to counter-examine (like they do on television)?
[Daphne – Of course. That takes place another day. It’s not a matter of being allowed. It’s part and parcel of the whole thing.]
Charity events, parties u kappillani. Sounding more and more like Keeping Up Appearances, with Mrs Bucket organising candle light suppers, and the proceeds going to the vicar.
Mrs Bucket didn’t have sex with policemen while married to Mr Bucket.
Don’t forget the riparian activities and tea in Royal Dalton china with the hand-painted periwinkles!

Someone should write a sitcom based on this, and I bet it will get more viewers than Xarabank even should it be aired at some ungodly hour. I’m trying to come up with a suitable title..Desperate Magistrates?
