From one Joseph Muscat to another

You're all welcome on the ideology-free Labour bandwagon: homophobes, misogynists, religious zealots, nigger-bashers and control freaks. We love you all.

You're all welcome on the ideology-free Labour bandwagon: homophobes, misogynists, religious zealots, nigger-bashers and control freaks. We love you all.

The right-wing political party Azzjoni Nazzjonali has shut up shop. Its members are changing the statute from that of a political party to an an “organisation that promotes and disseminates conservative values”.

Why don’t they just join the Labour Party? They don’t even have to change their leader’s name.

Azzjoni Nazzjonali synthesised the core Labour values of contempt for nisa-rgiel, hatred and suspicion of homosexuals as the work of Satan, misogyny and the equation of influential women with witches and witchcraft (necessitating burning), overzealous religiosity as a badge of identity that has no bearing on behaviour, and intolerance for free speech, different attitudes and a need to ‘shut them up’. And we haven’t even started on the fear of black people.

The background behind Joseph Muscat is interesting. It says Ideat – Fondazzjoni Progressiva but the ‘clouds’ coming out of the logo are all empty. It’s very apt.

Oh, and the emptiness also appears to be emanating from Il-Leader’s head.

    Daphne, I was just thinking.

Do you get paid for writing on this blog? You have a couple of ads but I’m not so sure. I watched Dissett this week and was thinking whether you might just be the first and only professional blogger in Malta. I’m not interested in financial details but it’s good to know whether one can make a living out of this activity.

[Daphne – No, I don’t get paid. I do it for kicks. I imagine it beats sleeping with policemen and other women’s husbands, but I’m not the right person to ask about that.]

We all know about the painting The Scream by Edvard Munch.
It came to my mind because I can see Marisa Micallef going round in circles in the same pose and screaming “these f*******g people I joined for 40,000 Euro a year are making my life impossible. I am part of a f*******g group of tossers.”

  4. Zilch says:

Is this a Photoshop shot or are the Great Leader’s ideat …blank…empty?

    • PM says:

Zilch, it is left empty on purpose. It is a fill in the blanks: according to whom the Leader is addressing.

  5. freefalling says:

And that is why Joseph Muscat lies when he claims to be progressive as his party is anything but.

Unlike the Nationalists who move on despite having a recession to face and an opposition that hinders progress, Labour are stuck in a vacuum of fear and are mostly frightened of losing the next election.

Having a warped and limited mindset, they prefer to accommodate the fears of staunch Labour supporters at any cost be it homophobia, misogyny or religion.

  6. TROY says:

And speaking of sleeping with policemen. Some police officers talk (in public ) about the Daphne/Consuelo saga in a way that leads you to wonder if the Force has changed its motto from ‘DOMINE DIRIGE NOS’ to ‘CONSUELO DIRIGE NOS’.

  7. TROY says:

Does that sign behind Joseph read IDIOT.

  8. Lino Cert says:

It’s IDIOT, as written by Maltastar.

  9. Dem-ON says:

Daphne, from the way you described those of Azzjoni Nazzjonali, they sound very progressive and moderate. Labour is their natural home, and they will fit in nicely in the Moviment which has no core principles, but is bound together by a force from its Leader called “Love.”

  10. Alan says:

“They don’t even have to change their leader’s name.”

… or even get their own websites. They have Mlatasart.com and TYOM.com all set up and in place.
