Fejn hu t-tebut?
This website, like Facebook and a multitude of blogs and social networking sites, has long been blocked to access by internet connections in government departments.
But guess what? MITTS hasn’t blocked tasteyourownmedicine.com. So public servants can access it during working hours, but they can’t access mine.
And then Kurt Farrugia and his band of coconuts claim that I am paid by the government.
If the government paid me to produce this site, why would the government block it to stop state employees reading it during working hours? Mur ifhem. Now they can read tasteyourownmedicine.com instead.
Imagine if the situation were the reverse, kemm kienu ibossu u jirrectaw tal-Mltasatr u Super One.

Good that MITTS gave access to that site. Assuming that civil servants are not illiterate, they would be able to see for themselves and get back to their duties sooner than anticipated.
On the positive side, the people at MITTS have a constant reminder of what they – and all of us unfortunately – would be in for were Labour ever to be in government.

That’s why most of their comments are in the morning just like the timesofmalta.com comments and then they complain that Labour supporters are discriminated against. Always thought that we should reduce government employees so that they might become more efficient.
That will give state employees something to do, otherwise they would be bored to death.

I have tried accessing your website from work, but unlike with Facebook, putting an s after http does not do the trick. Facebook is accessible to a certain limit when adding this s.
As for being able to access tasteyourownmedicine.com I must add that we civil servants have better things to do than read such trash.

Probably your blog is blocked because it is a huge success. Did you see ‘Dissett’ yesterday? It was almost exclusively dedicated to your blog.
I am sure many government employees would be reading your blog instead of ‘working’. And who cares about the other blog? Maybe only the ‘faithful few’.
However, I think that the government would do itself a favour not to block your blog, at least most of its employees might learn how to write good English.

That must really have caused a dent in the egos of Jacques Rene Zammit and the tasteyourownmedicine administrators. Not to mention, of course, the Marie Benoits of this world.

Well, if you really want to access blocked sites, it’s relatively easy… Google “proxy servers” (and you’ll get results such as http://www.zend2.com/).
If proxy servers happen to be blocked as well, running a SSH tunnel is the way to go.
To dig such a tunnel you need to have a remote SSH server to connect to and I don’t know of any available for free on the internet. This leaves you with only one option, that is to setup an SSH server at home listening on an unblocked port (may be 443 as 22 is normally blocked). Clearly not a job for the average user.
There is no point blocking something people won’t read.
Good move that gov.employees can view that site – if they are intelligent they can soon see for tbemselves what we are in for if PL wins elections in 2013
Local servers are discriminated against. I have a fixed IP at home to serve my clients and it’s blocked by MITTS…
