Help raise funds for Dun Manwel Attard special needs school in Wardija tomorrow by visiting the barbecue and fair in the school grounds, from 11am – fresh fruit and vegetables, olive oil, honey, flowers and herbs, cheeses, coffee and cakes, wine, and pony rides for children – organised by Matty and Sam Cremona with the help of Wardija residents. All proceeds go to the school.

@DAPHNE
THIS IS YOUR BEST COMMENTARY I HAVE EVER READ FROM YOUR PEN. AT LEAST YOU HAVE SOME REMAINING VALUES .
@rspiteri, don’t preach values to Daphne, please, she’s not the one embarrassing the nation with her indecent flings. You should know because you seem to read all her comments.
Now put your money where you mouth is. The address for cheque donations is below.
@rspiteri
the Pope’s visit might be leaving its influence ;) Ipokrezija assoluta.
Nahseb ser tifqawa lill-iskola tal-Wardija bil-flus li ser taghtu.
You mention a barbecue at the top then don’t mention any food in the list of items available. Is there going to be bbq food also? Thanks.
[Daphne – Yes, of course.]
Have you ever been to a BBQ which didn’t involve food? What do you think they’re going to barbecue, flip flops?
Thank you for putting this up on your blog, My son attends this special school and the attention and care he gets there is incredible. Thank you once again.
Can you give us the postal address where one can send donations, please?
The answer’s been posted below:
Make out cheques to Dun Manwel Attard School and mail them to Anthony Galea, headmaster, Dun Manwel Attard School, Wardija, L/O St Paul’s Bay.
God Bless our special children
Anyone who is reading this blog, just for once in your life…please forget the colours of politics and join in by donating, or going to the event. Please help this worthy cause.
Daphne, got to be at my grandson’s football tournament tmr in the morning. What time will they still be doing their thing. Would like to attend or donate.
Thank you, Daphne… A very worthy cause. Shall change my Sunday morning routine and pop by.
I hope that anybody reading this blog can agree that where it counts, we Maltese can discover we have so much in common – particularly on those things which are essentially those which count.
I will be there. Hope contributors in this blog will attend and give a donation.
Daph when you have these good causes can your webmaster next to the “Leave a Comment” field insert a “Leave a Donation” field too with a pop-up with the account and links to the banks so that we can oblige?
[Daphne – No, we can’t do that. If you wish to send a cheque, you have the details here.]
Karl, donations should be sent directly to the school addressed to the headmaster Mr. Anthony Galea. You should find the address in the phone book.
[Daphne – Please make out cheques to Dun Manwel Attard School and mail them to Anthony Galea, headmaster, Dun Manwel Attard School, Wardija, L/O St Paul’s Bay. Thank you.]
Thanks, donation mailed. I’d like to add, ”I honestly believe that it is your ability and versatility that makes your writings so exciting, besides being a powerful tool of persuasion. Your short communication above is evidence of your altruism and that it is not party politics only, in favour of the PN, in which you are interested”.
[Daphne – I actually did nothing at all to help with this fund-raising activity, except publicise it here. A small team of people have been cooking and working for days to get it sorted. Matty alone cooked enough rabbit, cake and biscuits for 200 people, in her own kitchen, for example.]
“Matty alone cooked enough rabbit, cake and biscuits for 200 people”
which hasn’t stopped nasty people with little green hearts from spreading rumours about the Wardija festival being a business deal for the Cremonas. For shame. They measure everyone with their own cheap and tacky yardstick.
Well, spreading rumours is easy. What are the odds that the little green men and women haven’t ever a) made a donation to the school b) done anything useful without expecting payment in cash or in kind?
Isn’t it that every drop counts? It needn’t be materialistic, no?
Yes, every drop counts and it is likely that the rumour mongers never gave a drop to this particular cause, or even to any other. That’s the only charitable explanation for their inability to understand that some people do things because they want to and not because they’re paid.
It is refreshing to have a positive post for a change
Had a great day with my family at Dun Manwel Attard special needs school. Proset to all.
Good food, good company, and, on the whole, a pleasant day out – thanks to Matty and Sammy Cremona and all those who were involved.
The rabbit with artichokes was amazing.
Quite an enjoyable afternoon….met some ‘old ghosts’ haven’t seen for a long time.
Just a quick “thank you” to all involved for an enjoyable day out.
Today was the second time that we spent the day at the annual Dun Manwel Attard School fund raising activity.
On both occasions, the prevailing atmosphere throughout was one of happiness and joy, fuelled by the hard work and infectious enthusiasm of the Cremonas and their equally hardworking helpers.
It is indeed sad that the promoters and commentors on what is perhaps best described as the YahBoo.com blog have attempted to cast their filth upon this worthy initiative on the part of the Wardija residents.
The onslaught on Sammy and Matty Cremona personally is particularly condemnable and it only serves to highlight the ill will that sustains that despicable blog.
Prosit to all those volunteers and helpers who sacrificed their own money and time for yesterday’s event.
If you need a helping hand next time round, please do contact me, it will be my pleasure. Daphne has my email address.
