Amazing how that sorry lot identify themselves with the British Labour Party

The Labour Party’s director of communications, Kurt Farrugia (the incredibly short one, remember?) has just tweeted us again.

Labour is the keeper of hope, the guarantor of justice, and now, so clearly, the only progressive movement that this country has.

The Tweet seemed suspiciously idiomatic and had no spelling mistakes. The punctuation marks were all in the right places. So I Googled the entire quote.

It’s something Gordon Brown said when Ed Miliband was elected leader of the Labour Party.

  1. La Redoute says:

It’s unfortunate for him that Kurt Farrugia chose to quote a party leader who was dumped.

Twitter messages are supposed to be short and timely. Well, he got the first bit right.

  2. Not Tonight says:

Identifying yourself with someone is one thing, plagiarising what they say quite another.

  3. R Camilleri says:

On a different note, The Times reported that ‘Scientists improve stem cell creation’.

‘The advance in cell reprogramming by researchers in Boston is a more efficient way of turning skin cells into stem cells, which avoids the use of embryos.’

Imagine what a shock Joseph will get when he read the news. He spent €4000 on blood stem cell storage and advertised it as the best parents can do to combat future illnesses of their children.

    • Little Britain says:

Please don’t be daft as well as just plain cruel. ANY normal parent would go to Hell and back for their sick children. We may not agree with him politically, but at least let’s be mature enough not to be utter bastards.

[Daphne – Who has sick children? Have I missed something?]

      • Little Britain says:

No, nobody has sick children. And for that we should be thankful. Do you think otherwise?

      • R Camilleri says:

From your comment I understand that you have no notion of what stem cells are and what they are or might be used for. You completely missed the point. Of course, any parent will do anything to protect his children but that is not what the Muscats are doing here.

What is truly despicable is a Labour MP promoting a €4000 technique ‘as the best parents can do for their children’, while at the same time groaning that the electorate are living from hand to mouth.

Little Britain, what is just plain cruel is Joseph Muscat telling people who have a lower income than he does that they are not doing their best as parents just because they are not ‘high class’.

  4. Little Britain says:

Oh God, couldn’t he have just written something more original. That seems like a blurb for some action hero. Labour are just pathetic.

We know from the grapevine at tal-Qroqq that they excel at copying.

At least there is one activity they are good at. They are not complete morons.

  6. Rover says:

Daphne, is there anything that remotely slips your attention?

    Hallilu wahda ghaddejja miskin.

  7. Edward Caruana Galizia says:

How utterly embarrassing this is. The Malta Labour Party rips off ideas from other political parties from other countries. What a dated, colonial attitude they still have.

Is this a case of because it’s English then it’s automatically better?

Please don’t tell me they actually believe they are equal to the Labour Party in the UK, or anywhere in Europe for that matter. Talk about delusional. Amateurs the lot of them.

  8. Antoine Vella says:

This is not just identification: it’s plagiarism.

  9. ciccio2010 says:

There is nothing wrong if they copy.
The problem is that they do not acknowledge the source!

  10. Charles Darwin says:

    Unbelievable. What a loser!

  11. Another John says:

Plagiarism from beginning to end. Does not the name Malta Labour Party strike a close note to British Labour Party? Maybe now it has dawned upon the bright sparks to change to PL. But the bootlegging mentality continues unabated.

  12. TROY says:

The frustrated midget has been caught copying. Is this the best Labour can produce?

  13. red nose says:

The nit-wits think that Maltastar and the whole set-up is tops. What a miserable lot. I cannot understand how Kurt manages to be more ridiculous than he really is. But keep at it, Kurt – you are an asset to the Nationalist Party.

  14. Anthony Farrugia says:

Has the Labour Party’s director of communications noticed that New Labour is old hat and Red Ed is in ?

  15. red nose says:

Is Marisa away on leave (or in Brussels with Tony Zarb)?

  16. mark says:

“It’s only the internet, who’s going to guess we copied it?”

If anything, retweet it and leave the original source in the tweet. That way it would have been a symbol of tacit agreement, maybe support. This way, it doesn’t really stand for that at all.
