Well, petrol is a difficult word to pronounce; it has all of two syllables.
Prime minister Gonzi is not much better, he tends to inverse root consonants in Maltese verbs, I heard him say, ‘jikpi’ instead of ‘jibki’ and other words.
I would not expect such a mistake from a prime minister in formal speech.
Probaly the word ‘petrol’ is a tongue twister for Anglu. This could be like Lawrence’s ‘arjuplani’ .
It would be interesting if both utter ‘xumagani’ instead of ‘xugamani’.
“Hawn Ang, dak itfahlu naqa pitlor u ghamillu ftit zejt fil-kapsowvers. Ghabbilu ftit gidra fuq il-kerettun u ejja ha mmurru.”
U le, Rover. Gib l-iljunfant. Duk ma juzux petlor.
Madonna li kieku kienet Cikka ta’ Bubaqra nifhima li tghid petlor imma minn avukat u politiku ma tistennijiex. Din gravi.
Heqq, mela ma tafux li dak kien SPECTER tal-pulizija?
Min jaf KIF sar avukat?
Do you think it is difficult to graduate as a lawyer nowadays?
[Daphne – It must be, because that Charlon Gouder is really struggling. But then again, he might just be thick.]
This is not an isolated case. In a documentary by The Times about the Egyptian Air hijack he spoke about the RIA instead of IRA.
What did Ira do?

Nareszcie coś fajnego i przejrzystego. Będę tutaj częściej zaglądać, jeszcze wielokrotnie. Pozdrawiam
