Disappearing act

The Wall Street Journal says there is no information of the current whereabouts of the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. It quotes a US official saying the State Department checked and couldn’t confirm reports that Col. Gaddafi had left the country.
Nobody seems to be remarking on the fact that it was Saif Gaddafi who addressed the nation on television, when it should and would have been his father who did so in a crisis like that.
It could have been straightforward cowardliness (unlikely), lack of reason (likely) or he’s just not there to do it. But would he have left before the fighting started in Tripoli? It’s possible – it figures that he would have left his sons to face the music.

Whilst surfing the various news sites yesterday night, I saw that Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela is being mentioned as a possible destination.
While the world media focuses on Libya, more repression in Iran.

Why?
Let’s see if I can ‘capture’ a look at it.
Just to focus on the other side of the world, what ever happened to Duvalier in Haiti? Last I heard he was being arrested, but it’s gone completely quiet since. For a while I thought there was hope for some justice being done to that barbarian.
That’s the most sickening part of it. These thugs tends to get away from it most of the time, as will likely happen with Gaddafi. He will have secured stacks of money and a decent hide-out somewhere, ensuring he lives in comfort and luxury to the end of days.
Then again, at the sound of a regime change perhaps it would be wise to embrace the good news and leave vindication out of the picture.
