And here’s another gem from Jurgen Cachia’s website:
Col. Gaddaffi’s 4th visit to Malta
1-3 July 1978: Gaddafi visited Malta after a political tour of East European countries. “Gaddafi was the first Head of State to visit Malta just one week after becoming a Republic, abolishing the monarchy here as he had done there.”
I must shamefully admit my very poor knowledge of Maltese history. Until reading this I had never realised that Gaddafi had abolished the monarchy here in Malta. I take it we should be eternally grateful to him for that.

There is a very good history book by Mons Salv Laspina (only taking the mickey).
KMB has a lot to answer for. He gave advance warning to Muammar about US air attack thus prolonging the agony suffered by the Libyan people for so many years. Does he have a conscience and does he sleep well at night?
He must be having kittens seeing so many of Cain’s planes at MIA.
While celebrating the birth of a republic we invite a ‘DICTATOR’. Oh, the Golden Years.
Had no idea he had addressed an MLP mass meeting. It would be interesting seeing the PBS tapes.
[Daphne – You mean Xandir Malta. No such luck, I’m afraid. The entire political archive pre 1987 was destroyed or spirited away. Or maybe they just reused the tapes – is-soltu qamel ta’ dak iz-zmien.]
