I told you in an earlier post that when our home was set alight by supporters of Norman Lowell – a conclusion reached because of certain slogans painted on the approach road just before it happened, and because of concurrent arson attacks on the Jesuit Refugee Service and others perceived to be supporting illegal immigrants – Saviour Balzan come over for a chat.
In the course of that chat, I pointed out that Norman Lowell’s girlfriend at the time, Arlette Baldacchino, moderated the horrid Viva Malta internet forum, where racists and Far Right maniacs gathered to exchange views about black people and all those who ‘favour’ them.
He said that he would not mention this fact in his newspaper coverage because Arlette is his sister’s friend. Well, it seems that his foollish courtesy was wholly misplaced, because Arlette failed to reciprocate. Using her Viva Malta codename ‘etoile noir’ (which is apparently Lowell’s pet moniker for her – he doesn’t like black people but he quite fancies black stars) she wrote some pretty abusive things about Saviour after Malta Today’s coverage of the attack on my home.
Oh, and I can’t help saying this, but after reading it you will understand why I said that we were in the same class at school until she was kept back because of ignorance and the inability to pass simple examinations. Miaow.

i would donate to the malta today’s libel fund. honestly i would for i believe in the reader’s right to know.
however the malta today is not interested in the reader’s right to know the truth, but only saviour balzan’s version of events which, imo, are totally warped and full of venom to those he regards as “scum”.
today’s issue of maltatoday has reached new and unprecedented lows. personal attacks, half truths, assumptions and downright lies. they even go as far as saying that the staff of maltatoday would do a better job than the police in solving these arson attacks – and naturally they take the opportunity to try to ridicule the police force, from top to bottom.
what are you waiting for saviour? go ahead and find the culprits if you are capable. all of malta will be grateful to you, and your name will suit your character rather than being a misnomer!

stop using vivamalta as scapegoats. we are neither fascist nor nazi sympathisers. we’ve read as much hitler & mussolini as we’ve read marx & engels.

on the maltatoday you find appeals for funds to finance a plethora of libel cases lost. go figure!
