Aisha Gaddafi's wedding video

Published: August 27, 2011 at 9:47pm

It turns out that the golden double-seater fashioned like a mermaid with Aisha Gaddafi’s face, which was found in her home and made the world headlines, was the throne used at her wedding festivities.

Watch the video, if you can stand it. I have a horrible feeling that the ‘chair lift’ device used to raise the glorious couple above the crowd of guests is going to be copied at certain sorts of Maltese weddings – or by Joseph tal-Ingravata Hadra and Michelle tar-Rollers for their next public appearance, giving new meaning to the term ‘high’ class.

I hope Michelle won’t copy that dress too. Modest, wasn’t it?

I wonder what was the groom’s baptism of fire to be accepted in the clan.

Possibly the little dwarf and the roller lady could utilize the planned new elevator from the Grand Harbour to Valletta, ascending above the massed gathering of adulating, idiots below, led by Anglu on his elephant, Karmenu on his camel, and Cyrus on any guy he can find.

Daphne! I have just been to a chavtastic wedding! I really didn’t need a double whammy…

I’m starting a business: cherry-pickers for your special occasions – weddings, graduations, engagement parties, confirmations, Holy Communion and anniversaries. Selection of thrones available: Malta stone, mahogany, silver or gold.

Combined weight of over 200kg can only be lifted while the unit is stationary.

  6. Brilliant wedding video. Others I’ve seen pale into insignificance.

Somehow I can imagine Muscat and Michelle on a similar throne but can’t picture Gonzi and Kate on one.
