Joe Sammut badgers the government for visas for Gaddafi loyalists

Mutassim Gaddafi - Joe Sammut holds millions for him in Maltese banks, now frozen

Completely without shame or embarrassment, Mosta accountant and former Labour Party treasurer Joe Sammut is busy lobbying the government for visas for a long list of Gaddafi loyalists who have nowhere else to go.

Some of them have bought flats already in prestigious condominium developments and are using this to argue for their visa.

Sammut is working on what might well be one of his last tasks for these clients even though he is well aware that the government he is badgering for visas has registered and is monitoring the millions he holds in ‘client accounts’ in Maltese banks for Saadi and Mutassim Gaddafi.

The Malta Independent on Sunday reports:

Sources have confirmed with The Malta Independent on Sunday that Mr Sammut has over the last weeks been relentlessly haranguing the appropriate authorities with his efforts to ‘recommend’ visas for Libyan friends.

The people Mr Sammut is recommending for visas have already bought or are willing to buy luxury properties in Malta.

According to sources, numerous correspondence and phone calls to the appropriate authorities have been made by Mr Sammut, who has been intensively lobbying to get these visas seen to as soon as possible.

I hope Joe Sammut has seen the previous post, “While we were prudent”.

You mean, the 2008 MLP candidate? He didn’t stand a chance. He was competing against Lorna Vassallo.

Anyone noticed how the host (who arrived late) greeted his guests at his Eid celebration? Whilst his principal guests, including Mr El Saad, bothered to wear a tie for the occasion, Dr Joey went “Islamic” by wearing an open- neck shirt and no tie.

This man is so transparent and predictable.

Not all Gaddafi ‘loyalists’ are criminals, just as not all the rebels are angelic liberators.

Why not tell us which faction you are supporting? Is it Jalil, Gaddafi’s former Justice minister and interim leader? Is it the ‘American’ economics professor Mahmoud Jibril? Or is it the Al Qaeda veteran Abd Al-Hakim Belhadj, who proclaimed himself ‘head of the Tripoli Military Council’ (that’s the commander-in-chief of the rebel forces)?

I support anyone as long as it’s not Gaddafi, and that includes Islamists. I agree that the media loves a 100% hero and 100% villain, and that realpolitik has become a dirty word.

      • kev says:

That’s the spirit Baxxter – a win-win situation, even if you’ll be spicing those words for better taste in a few months’ time.

Tell me, have you ever politically foreseen anything in your life, or have you always played batsman?

      • Harry Purdie says:

Rather be a batsman, Kevvy, than a housemaid. Although I suppose your kitchen role gives you ample time to read and write your happy horseshit

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

“Politically foreseen anything”? What do you mean?

    • Dee says:

Since when does a dyed-in-the-wool leyberist quote a (shock! horror!) ”Zionist” cyber rag?

    • yor/malta says:

Kev, when you find a pure world of black and white with no in-between grey area let us know. But even you would find it boring – a bit like a Brussels suburb, perhaps.

The possession of a Schengen visa does not entitle the holder the right to enter Malta. He/she could always be held by an immigration officer at the port of arrival if the immigration officer is not satisfied that the visa was issued correctly.

I hope immigration officers at the airport will closely check Libyans entering Malta.

    Who’s the notary?

One who thinks of freedom in the collective sense only?

Or maybe one who believes genetics could be rectified?

  7. Harry Purdie says:

He’s gotta work fast. His sordid business enterprise has collapsed.

For a second I thought that was Keanu Reeves in the pic.

Apart from getting an insight into another recruit to Muscat’s brigade, at one point during the interview Cilia mentions that KMB used to lecture him at university. Who appointed the likes of KMB and AST to lecturing posts at university?
