Nakita Zammit Alamango should have been sacked for first-grade stupidity and ineptitude

Published: August 16, 2011 at 5:27pm

Should The Times have waited until its ‘token Socialist woman’ blogger was caught plagiarising a Financial Times columnist?

She should have been let go long before that, for crass stupidity and total ineptitude.

Take this scintillating piece by Nakita, for example, found cached on line.

It hasn’t even been subbed.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY, COME AGAIN SOME OTHER DAY….WHEN OUR INFRASTRUCTURE WILL BE READY SOMEWAY

Summer is approaching slowly towards its end and the first clouds advance shyly on the horizon. Researching at my desk, while I wait anxiously for the first smell of rain drops, eager for some cooler weather to come along, I could not hold back from having a look at NSO’s latest Retail Price Index (RPI): July 2010.

(…)

I hope that the first rain droplets that will hit our ground will be greeted with a warm welcome and they will not end washed away in our flooded streets ending directly in our sewage network then damped in the sea.

    “damped in the sea”

Rain water in sea water – and she expects it not to be damp?

    • Grezz says:

Don’t put a damper on it for her, miskina. She was probably really pleased with what she must have thought was poetic inspiration.

Well, I’m not surprised, seeing that her generation had Maltese ‘poetry’ rammed down their throat.

Her punctuation is worse than maltastar’s.
      Maltastar 1 – Nakita 0

    Absolutely dreadful.

Does The Times actually employ sub editors these days?

If they do, you wouldn’t know it.

    • La Redoute says:

Basic requirements for any contributor are 1. something to say 2. the ability to say it.

Sub-editing is polish, not substance or substitution.

  3. Jozef says:

I shyly appeal to the people in the SPCA bookshop, to make a researched intervention, damping Nikita with a cup of Harlequin tea.

    I’m so sorry.

  4. Grezz says:

Nikita Alamango must be proud. Victor Laiviera’s very rudely sprung up in her defence – with his blinkers on:

    “Mr Victor Laiviera

So it’s The Elves vs Humpty Dumpty and The Witch (accompanied by her familiars)

One could almost make it into a movie.”

[Daphne – Sprung up in her defence? Most unlikely, at his age, unless he’s raided Ronnie Pellegrini’s Viagra cache.]

  5. Neil Dent says:

‘Approach slowly towards…..’ as opposed to what, ‘Approach slowly away from’?

  6. Paul Bonnici says:

Nakita is holding the camera with both her arms extended and taking a picture of herself. Totally naff.

  7. NGT says:

Well the sea would dampen a rain drop I guess… What is it with these people? Remeber Pellegrini’s ‘waist paper basket’ guff?

By the way, joking apart, is her name really Nakita with an ‘a’ or is that just the way it’s pronounced?

[Daphne – Her real name is Nakita. It would be, wouldn’t it.]

  9. Dee says:

I thought that “Nakita” was a song written by Elton John with an old ex-boyfriend in mind.

  10. red nose says:

I am sure she is enjoying this publicity.

  11. ciccio2011 says:

    Gillian Tett wannabe.
