Oh look! Labour has pulled its finger out, too.

The rebels are closing in on Gaddafi and have said that it is only a matter of days before he is caught or killed.

Bang on cue, the government of Malta announces that it will strip him of his decorations, and then a few hours later Labour pulls its own finger out and releases this:

Għandhom jitneħħew l-unuri lil Gaddafi

Il-Partit Laburista jemmen u jaqbel li l-Gvern għandu jneħħi l-unuri li ngħataw lil Kurunell Gaddafi minn amministrazzjonijiet differenti Maltin matul iż-żmien.

Ir-riżoluzzjoni Parlamentari għandha titressaq quddiem il-Parlament b’mod konġunt u bi-partisan biex nuru l-għaqda tagħna bħala pajjiż favur ir-rieda tal-poplu Libjan.

They’re feeling so devil-may-care in light of the news that Gaddafi will soon be caught or killed that they even MENTIONED HIM BY NAME. FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE FEBRUARY.

Are they really, really, really sure that it’s really, really, really safe to stop being prudent?

No, that doesn’t sound quite right. Let’s start again.

Are they really, really, really sure that it’s really, really, really prudent to do this?

Because come on, the TNC said it’s a matter of days. Anything can happen in a day. A day is a long time in politics. Tomorrow never comes.

If they capture him, there is a 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance that he might escape and send a Scud missile to Malta, ruining our tourism.

We can’t have that, can we.

So I would say the really, really, really prudent thing to do would be to strip him of those honours when he’s dead. And for good measure, rotting.

You know, just to be on the safe side. And prudent.

Oh my! Just when they thought it was safe to get back into the water, he crops up as a guest of Robert Mugabe.

Come to think of it, if the above is true, there must be a hell of a lot of cowards shitting in their pants right now.

Well, now that Gaddafi is gone Labour has told us that it held meetings with the rebels during the months of conflict.

What shall we tell them about that, then? “keep it up”, “smell the coffee” or….. rabid liars.

    davidg,

and If that’s the case then they’re implying they’ve got the blood of the dead loyalists on their hands.

The ones they referred to in their statement as ‘dawk li mietu ghal kawza li emmnu fiha’.

They’re sitting ducks at this point.
