The PL needs funds; apparently the Gaddafi money was drying up.

Now that they have the Business Forum, with all that talent, they can branch out from baby clothes into groceries. And wine.

Kantur li ma jridx ikanta qisu xitan li ma jridx jittanta.

Toni Abela huwa politiku li ma jridx johrog ghall-elezzjoni, nisthajlu il-kantur (dak li jmexxi l-kant fil-knisja )li ma jridx ikanta , izda xorta jrid lil-haddiehor ikanta.

Darba kiteb bicca fuq l-orizzont fuq il-ghala ma’ jridx johrog ghonqu ghal-politika, fejn tkellem hafna kontra il-parlamentari kollha.

    Hawwadni ha nifhmek.

    Yes,

their stated intention was to create the local version of the COOP. What they didn’t say was that having defaulted on their obligation, as tenants, to carry out maintenance and upkeep of Australia Hall, resulted in the building falling into ruin.

They threw a hissy fit when the Lands Department proceeded, as obliged by law, to evict them and proposed a deal whereby the outstanding works would be carried out in exchange for a permit to operate a supermarket.

    Leading by example presumably.

The left portion of the front cover sheet put up infront of the facade of the Auberge de Castille, during its renovation, has been removed. It has revealed a beautiful facade, and a wondeful job being done by the renovators. Well done!

Now why would Marlene Mizzi mistake comprehensive restoration for superficial renovation? Hmm.

Dan wiehed mill-aqwa buffi li ghandhom tal-Labour. Tkecca mill-partit bena partit iehor u rega mar lura ghax ghal ma’ l-injoranti biss tajjeb.

    • Carmelo Aquilina says:

Give Toni Abela a break – he and Wenzu Mintoff had the guts to stand up to Lorry Sant and his groupies when he sent thugs to beat up demonstrators at a pro-environment protest in Valletta.

For their pains they were expelled from the Labour Party. How many politicans would have the balls to do that?

[Daphne – They didn’t have he balls to stay away, though, did they.]

      • Carmelo Aquilina says:

That’s not the point – every other Labour politican at that time ignored, colluded with or was frightened of taking on Lorry and his clique.

To say nothing, or to join in the lies that that attack by his thugs was a “spontaneous attack by workers” as Xandir Malta was saying at that time would have meant continuing to benefit from the party machine.

Toni Ablea and Wenzu Mintoff identified the thugs for police and even they had to charge the thugs.

The only other person to speak out in Labour ranks was a female columnist in the English language Saturday Party paper (sorry, I forget the name) and she was kicked off for speaking out too.

For their pains they were expelled from the party and were in the political wilderness with AD for years. Kudos to them for their action and integrity taken in spite of their own personal and political loss.

If Toni Abela and Wenzu Mintoff rejoined the Labour Party later that does not detract from their courage in doing the right thing when it did not benefit them. If only more of our politicans did the same thing.

[Daphne – How wrong you are. Courage, because they stood up and said that what the Labour Party was doing was wrong, and were expelled for their pains? THEY SHOULD HAVE RESIGNED A LONG TIME BEFORE THAT. BETTER STILL, IF THEY WERE HALFWAY DECENT, THEY WOULDN’T HAVE JOINED THE PARTY IN THE FIRST PLACE.]

    Patetiku.
