Denis Catania shows off his Maltese passport on the internet

Philly.com reported last Friday:

Two brought back from Cuba in death of N.J. man

Two fugitives from Voorhees who escaped to Cuba are now in the custody of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office for their role in the killing of a Camden County College student, authorities said Thursday.

Denis Catania, 49, and Diana Camacho, 26, face murder, kidnapping, and arson charges in the death of Voorhees resident Ross Heimlich, 23, whose charred body was found Sept. 29, 2010, in a torched car in Hammonton. The biology student had been missing for several days.

Camacho and Catania left New Jersey immediately after the killing and headed to Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean, according to the Prosecutor’s Office. Law enforcement officials went to Cuba on Wednesday to transfer the pair back to Atlantic County.

Camacho and Catania appeared in Superior Court on Thursday. A third man, Damien Leo, 36, was arrested last month at his Philadelphia home on homicide, kidnapping, and arson charges in connection with Heimlich’s death. – Darran Simon

Denis Tal-Bazuti Catania once set up a Facebook group called ‘Save Malta from Illegal Immigrants’ but was in turn the subject of another group called ‘Whae ‘hinks Denis Catania is a pure fud’?

In this group he was described as “a vile man and a troll”. Truly a man who has done Malta proud. Not.

Maybe those who signed up to Denis Catania’s racist groups in their thousands will now finally come to their senses.

Cuba? How last century. And how exactly were they extradited?

Last time I checked, the USA and Cuba weren’t exactly on speaking terms.

I remember being shocked when Paul told me about how many of his friends had vacationed in Cuba. It is so close to the United States, yet it is bizarrely not a place many Americans consider visiting.

[Daphne – US Marshals were allowed briefly into the Cuba to collect Denis Catania and Diane Comacho.]
